How William Troost-Ekong’s football career led to the divorce between his parents
William Troost-Ekong was born in Harlem, Netherlands to a Dutch woman and a Nigerian father from Akwa Ibom state. The father, Mr Ekong wanted him to go to the university but that wasn’t the career path the young Ekong wanted to pursue.
Mr Ekong sent his son, Williams Troost- Ekong to a school in England but the stubborn son dropped out secretly and enrolled himself at Tottenham football academy. So, a few years down the line, Mr Ekong was expecting to welcome his graduate son back but instead got the shock of his life when Williams Troost-Ekong disclosed that he enrolled on a football academy and didn’t go to school as expected.
The main problem that led to the divorce between William Troost-Ekong’s parents started when he (William Troost-Ekong) needed the signature of his parents on a football document to seal a deal with a football club. The father who obviously won’t support his football career didn’t agree to sign those documents but William Troost-Ekong got his documents signed by his Dutch mother, and that was what led to the complete crash of his parent’s already unstable marriage.
