In the heat of the ongoing AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast where the Super Eagles of Nigeria are on the verge of clinching their 4th AFCON title, we have compiled a list of the players that won the 2013 AFCON for Nigeria. That 2013 AFCON tournament held in South Africa was the 3rd title for the Green Eagles of Nigeria.

Without wasting much of your time, let’s get to the main aim of this article.

Check out the list of the players that won the 2013 Afcon for Nigeria in South Africa

The following were the players that won the 2013 AFCON title for Nigeria. The late Stephen Keshi led them to the victory as their coach. See their names below:

  1. Vincent Enyeama
  2. Austin Ejide
  3. Chigozie Agbim
  4. Elderson Echejile
  5. Juwan Oshaniwan
  6. Joseph Oyobo
  7. Efe Ambrose
  8. Azubuike Egwuekwe
  9. Kenneth Omeruo
  10. Godfrey Oboana
  11. John Mikel Obi
  12. Nosa Igiebor
  13. Ogenyi Onazi
  14. Obiora Nwankwo
  15. Fegor Ogude
  16.  Reuben Gabriel
  17. Ahmed Musa
  18. Emmanuel Emenike
  19. Brown Ideye
  20. Victor Moses
  21. Ikechukwu Ike
  22. Ejike Uzoenyi
  23. Sunday Mba

The 23-man squad mentioned above were the players that won the 2013 AFCON for Nigeria in faraway South Africa. Sunday Mba scored the only goal in that match, and that was how Nigeria were able to win Burkina Faso to claim their 3rd AFCON title.

!! years down the line Nigeria are on the verge of clinching their 4th AFCON title as at the time of writing this article.

The Super Eagles were lucky enough to still have two players from the AFCON 2013 winning squad in their current team. The players are none other than Ahmed Musa and Kenneth Omeruo, and they are seriously bringing their vast experience to the game I must say the least.

The AFCON which stands for Africa Cup of Nations is a tournament for African teams hosted every tow years, unlike the EUROS which is 4 years.
