The 23-man squad mentioned above were the players that won the 2013 AFCON for Nigeria in faraway South Africa. Sunday Mba scored the only goal in that match, and that was how Nigeria were able to win Burkina Faso to claim their 3rd AFCON title.

The Super Eagles were lucky enough to still have two players from the AFCON 2013 winning squad in their current team. The players are none other than Ahmed Musa and Kenneth Omeruo, and they are seriously bringing their vast experience to the game I must say the least.

The AFCON which stands for Africa Cup of Nations is a tournament for African teams hosted every tow years, unlike the EUROS which is 4 years.
