Popular Yoruba actress Iyabo Ojo has opened up about why she kept silent after being sexually assaulted and how she eventually managed to overcome the traumatic experience.
During an interview with AY Comedian on his official YouTube channel, Iyabo revealed that fear of judgment prevented her from sharing her ordeal.
Recalling the incident, she said, “When a man forcefully had sex with me, I couldn’t tell anyone because I was scared. I was deeply afraid of being judged, and I didn’t want to have blood on my hands. At the time, I felt so many emotions I couldn’t explain, and I didn’t realize that others had experienced similar situations.”
Her candid revelation sheds light on the stigma surrounding survivors of sexual assault and the emotional toll it can take. Through her bravery, she continues to inspire conversations about healing and breaking the silence.
